With the arrival of our minister in September 2014, we started looking to what God may want us to be doing over the coming years. We have taken a very prayerful approach and believe that God is urging us to seek growth.
Growth in our faith and discipleship and growth in numbers of worshippers.
It's a big challenge at a time when many churches are struggling to survive, but we are confident that God will guide us and provide all the gifts we need to make the vision a reality.
The vision for St. Andrew’s is rooted in our community, a community that puts Christ at the centre of all we are and do.
We've been busy re-organising how we do things. We now have 12 elders who have responsibility for a particular area of church life plus 2 others. We now have fewer, shorter and more focussed meetings so that we have more time for doing what God asks of us.
We plan to offer a greater variety in worship styles and times. Our prayer life is being developed in many ways and we are looking to run courses in discipleship and for those who want to explore the faith. We'll be starting more housegroups. Our youth and children's work is being developed by our Youth Worker. We're looking at new forms of fellowship and community outreach and are training people in evangelism.
We believe God wants the church to thrive and be an important part of life in Sedgley. As we have begun to explore how the vision may be developed, we have found God opening doors and bringing the help we need.
We believe our vision is God's vision, to be a vibrant church of disciples, sharing their journey of faith together, revealing God's life transforming love to Sedgley and the world.
